To-do List:

Things on my to-do list:

(clockwise from top right)

1.) Get a hair cut… or maybe I should say trim. It’s the longest it’s been since high school and I am loving it, but it is way past time for a trim. I might settle for some new bangs or something. I think a fresh shape will help inspire me in many different ways.

2.) Start taking more pictures again. I’ve hit a lull, and I’m not sure why. But it makes me feel connected to the world... which is a good feeling.

3.) Find some new music that I love.

4.) Give voice lessons again. I have the students, I just need to make the calls and schedule them.

5.) Finish my house. The living room is basically done. The Kitchen is 99% completed. The main bathroom needs wall paper peeled, needs texture, I need to decide on a color scheme, paint, and get creative with the décor! This item on the to-do list also includes my DIY projects that involve refinishing a couple pieces of furniture, painting and freshening up some rummage sale finds and finding a creative way to display wedding pictures in our new home.

6.) Get really good at baking. I’ll just start off with one recipe, get really good at that one, and then go from there.

7.) Start going on walks with my husband. It’s something he enjoys, and something I would just assume put at the bottom of my list. I need to stop being so selfish.

8.) Look into scrap booking. It’s really big here and although most places are void of creativity in this mundane town, there are at least 2 or 3 nice sized scrapbooking stores. I’ve always been skeptical of this hobby, but I may find great creative release in this. We shall see. I will start by actually stepping foot in one of the stores.

9.) Find ways to de-stress. No explanation needed.

10) Learn how to make Grand-ma B’s homemade jelly. (Seth’s Grandma Baltzell, who is 91, lives by herself, is on no medication, is famous for her strawberry and blackberry jelly, has put mayonnaise on her face every night for the past 20 years because she read in a magazine that it’s good for it, and still doesn’t look a day over 70)

11.) Improve my skills in my 3 “P” areas….Prayer, Piano, and Photoshop

12.) Start Reading… and writing… something…anything… at least once a day.

bassically...

I don't know if it's summer, the heat (which really hasn’t been to terribly bad at all), or the fact that I need a haircut, but I am feeling uninspired. I have been here before and I know it will pass.

I read something along thse lines that I completely connected to, so I re-wrote it in my own words. Maybe I'm not so much of and optimistas I am just full of hope. I think this must just be a refueling time for me. I'm always storing up ideas, I just have no desire to spill them onto my computer and then on my blog. Maybe it's because for the first time in my life, I am giving more than receiving? This isn't a bad thing, just a bigger adjustment than I thought it would be. With this comes the fact that I’m busier than I’ve ever been in my life. I guess I need to browse, read, watch some movies, talk to old friends, learn something new and just sit for a while… when I get time of course.

Let's just see where this goes.

In the meantime I’m going to get a bit trimmed off my hair… just in case.

Jimmy Choo Shoes

Jimmy Choo Shoes are simply fabuous.
I believe it was Court who introduced this amazing shoe line to me a while ago and my wardrobe have never been the same.
Although Mr. Choo is not the actual designer, his name alone makes this the perfect shoe.

playing catch up!

I haven't posted much on here lately. It's definitely not from a lack of creativity, one thing I do make time for every day is searching for and discovering creative inspiration. Life has just been ridiculously hectic. I don't ever remember a time in my life where I was this busy. I look at this as a good thing, I am learning to handle more things at once and my life is constantly growing in one way or another! With the newest growth spurt I have become overly dependent on this little miracle that we like to call the coffee bean... so I thought what better way to get back in the swing of things than to give a tribute to this little guy!

Close to my Heart

Belize, Central America was devastated early Sunday morning by Tropical Storm Arthur. This was the storm that developed from the remnants of Tropical Storm Alma, which hit Nicaragua on the Pacific Coast earlier in the week. Most Belize residents are reporting that this is the first time they have seen such a devastating storm in their lifetime, including the occurrence of tornadoes. Over 12 inches of rain fell across the country, swelling rivers out of their banks. Most of the major roads and bridges are totally destroyed, which has made it impossible to get to the hardest-hit areas by land. The banana, citrus and shrimp industries have been destroyed. The oil industry is shut down because access to the deep water port at Independence Village has been cut off.

Sadly, Gales Point, the village of our dear friend, Pastor Lloyd Welch, was also almost totally destroyed. This place is very dear and precious to me and the teams that have traveled to Belize with us over the years. I have done missions work there for years, and have many other friends there.

The nephew of Baptist pastor Chester Ritchie watched helplessly as the flood waters swept away his wife, his 14-year old daughter and 11 year-old son. Their lifeless bodies were discovered hours later. Other lives have been lost, and several bodies have yet to be recovered.

Parts of Belize were greatly affected by a hurricane just last year. Emergency calls are going out for food, water, clothing and medicine. If I can raise the support, we can bring a team there immediately to assist.

Please pray for Belize, Pastor Welch, and the massive relief effort that is already underway. If you want to help tangibly, we will be sure to direct it to the heart of the need. Communication is difficult, but I will keep you posted as more information is made available.

These were taken at Gales Point, the peninsula mentioned above, that is without a doubt one of my most favorite places in the world. I have found enough peace, humility, and clarity on that small strip of peninsula to last me a lifetime.

Happy Pills

How amazingly fun and refreshing does this place look? Today would be a perfect day for a visit, if only I lived on the other side of the world...
